“All in all it was a tough weekend. The track surface had been re-laid just before the meeting and it was incredibly slippery. It was quick and it evolved quite a lot but every time we went out the car seemed to react differently.
“Qualifying wasn’t too great at all for us, but as the races wore on and the tyres came in more, particularly in races one, where we got quicker and managed to set some really competitive times. I set a purple sector and got third fastest lap of the race so the potential was there but it was just that it took too long to come together.
“Race three was another tough race and my first in the wet. I suppose it was a good leveller because nobody had experience of those conditions at the circuit. I learnt a lot over the duration of that race.
“Ultimately it was a really demanding weekend for many reasons, not least of which was that as a team we had to take a lot of gambles because of the unknowns of the new track surface.
“Next up is Pau and I am really looking forward to getting my first experience of a street circuit. I’ve heard so much about it. As a team we will re-group and definitely come back strongly in France next month.”
